Hosting a Football Party: Serve the Best Football Snacks

Playoff season is the perfect excuse to host a football watching party. Wear your team colors, pile onto the couch and, of course, chow down on your favorite football snacks.

A football party isn’t complete without lots of hearty snacks to munch on as you cheer on your team. Football food doesn’t have to be fancy or complicated: when you’re watching the game, food that is filling and easy to eat will be guaranteed to please. Get some inspiration from these traditional football snack ideas:

  • Dips - Cheesy dips are delicious on any occasion, but they’re especially popular during football season. Use disposable foil pans to bake hot dips like cheesy spinach and artichoke dips right before the game, but make cold dips like homemade guacamole ahead of time and store in the fridge until kickoff.

  • Chili - Nothing fills you up like a hot and hearty bowl of chili. It’s the perfect dish to keep simmering on the stove throughout the game, and it’s one of the most versatile meals around. Whether you make chicken chili, beef chili or vegetarian chili, a big bowl of chili is always a crowd-pleaser. After the game, store leftovers in plastic food containers to easily reheat for weeknight dinners.

  • Nachos - Nachos are one of the easiest snacks to make in a hurry, and you can use whatever ingredients you have on hand. Fill a baking sheet with tortilla chips, then top with cheese and your favorite nacho toppings and bake until melted. Popular nacho toppings include chicken or ground beef, black olives, beans, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole and jalapenos.

  • Sliders - Burgers and sandwiches are great for dinner, but when you’re feeding a crowd of hungry football fans you’ll want food that is easy to serve and eat. Sliders are the best of both worlds: they’re finger-food versions of your favorite sandwiches that are simple to grab in between plays. Try making mini meatball sliders, beef or turkey burger sliders, or bite-size buffalo chicken sliders.

You can’t go wrong with any of these tasty and filling football snacks. Try some of our ideas, and have fun coming up with your own crowd-pleasing football treats!
