Tips for Easy Avocado Storage in the Freezer
Want to make your avocados last longer? Use this nifty trick for keeping avocados fresh– simply scoop avocado meat into a Hefty® Freezer Slider Bag, spritz with juice from half a lemon, and then mash it all together! Seal the bag and toss in the freezer. When you’re ready to defrost, pop the slider bag directly into a bowl of ice cold water and let it stand for 30 minutes to one hour.
Mashed avocado tastes great on toasted bread, in guacamole dips or in salads. For best taste, be sure to use within four or five months of freezing.
